Money lending

Case study: credit checks

If you apply for a loan the credit provider will usually carry out a credit check to see if you are credit worthy and will be able to pay back the loan over the agreed time limit.

Most credit checks are run through credit bureaux - organisations that compile data about individuals and their credit history.

Any time someone applies for a credit card for example, a credit check is performed by the card company or issuing agency.
