A recent Ulster Bank survey has shown that 69% of adults feel that having money management lessons at school would have better equipped them to deal with the financial challenges of modern life, while 80% feel it’s very important to have an understanding of the importance and value of saving money from an early age.
In response to this Ulster Bank have introduced MoneySense for Schools, a programme that provides financial education for children, supporting them in learning how to manage their personal finances. Developed in partnership with teachers, the online, interactive resources are completely FREE. They are easy for teachers to deliver and have strong links to the Irish curriculum.
The MoneySense for Schools programme includes 4 modules which take students through the basics of banking and financial management – from the decision to open a bank account for the first time through to managing money on a day-to-day basis as part of independent living.
